Tessuto finissimo, leggero, vaporoso, la "mousseline" toglie peso all'abito, conservandone la ricchezza. Abiti impalpabili volteggiano nei salotti più prestigiosi, dame, come nuvole nei cieli sul deserto, spuntano per inarrivabile eleganza. La "mussola", un nome curioso che profuma d'Oriente, pare debba la sua origine al toponimo Mossul, nell'attuale Iraq, in quella terra che fu la Mesopotamia. An ultra-fine, lightweight, ethereal fabric, "mousseline" reduces the weight of a garment, while maintaining its sumptuousness. Impalpable dresses flutter in prestigious Parisian salons; ladies, like clouds in the desert sky, float by in unreachable elegance. Muslin, a curious term with shades of the Orient, apparently owes its name to the place name Mossul, in present-day Iraq, what was once Mesopotamia.
